Nicole by OPI: Fresh Squeezed

So this is the first of my Nicole by OPIs, the formula of which I highly enjoy, the bottle of which I most certainly do not. I love this slightly sheer slightly shimmery bright orange. And it is truly one of a kind, makes me feel like summer all over!
This is two coats and you can certainly build it up to full coverage with more.
Despite the somewhat sheer texture it wears really well and I didn't even suffer tip wear with this beauty.
Despite the obnoxious bottle, this is a superb polish, one that makes me yearn for warm sand, and a back up bottle! Or at least a good dupe, ideas anyone?
Until next time, stay polished.

Sally Hansen: Pacific Blue

(Just a brief disclaimer that all polishes swatched or reviewed on this blog from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, will be of the original formulation unless explicitly stated. I have not purchased any of the new formulation, nor to I intend to at this time)
So this is the big guy. This big beautiful polish. I don't know how much there is to say about this polish that hasn't already been said, but I'm gonna try. Gorgeously pigmented one coater, a brilliant bright blue.

I have a back-up if this beautiful baby, and I suggest you do too.
That's all for now folks! Stay polished.

Revlon: Whimsical

This polish is the next of the cult favourite Revlon crelly glitters, this is Girly's blue cousin. Once again impressed with the quality of this and the fact that such a mainstream nail polish brand is bringing out such a beautiful polish, which differs greatly in formula to what they usually release. Once again these polishes are toppers and can perform beautifully with one coat, but are able to build up to somewhat of an opacity with three coats. Here you have it, the gorgeous Whimsical
Blown away by this creamy polish, I want one is every colour!
Less chipping with this one than Girly, however I would still recommend a top coat to even out the texture of the nail.
I love this polish quite a lot and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different at the drug store.
Until next time, stay polished

Revlon: Girly

I love this polish, hands down. It is gorgeous and I am in love with jelly cream polishes with hex glitter like this. Revlon makes a very good cruelly based glitter and I am pleasantly surprised with both the look and the quality of this polish.
Such a beauty. This polish is made for being a topper, but as seen on my accent nail with about three coats it can be built up to semi opacity with a visible nail line.
This polish makes me very happy, and after seeing it for the first time, I was losing sleep until I had it in my possession, I swear! This is not the finest polish when it comes to chipping, but a top coat would add even texture and shine to this nail look as well as helping with chipping that is apt to occur with glitter.
Overall a gorgeous 'girly' shade! Stay polished!

Sally Hansen: Greige Gardens

This is a fairly thick grey beige colour with what I see as a hint of purple, which may or may not show up, but regardless it pairs quite well with a purple. This polish is a bit confusing, as I believe I have seen the exact polish, which is part of the Sally Hansen complete salon manicure line, labelled both as Greige Gardens, which is the one that I have, and also as simply 'Greige'. As far as I can tell these polishes are identical, regardless of which variation of the name they have but just a heads up.
This is a fairly thick and even polish, these swatches are two coats. I'm a sucker for greys and while this isn't my favourite grey it's still a nice addition to my collection.
Until next time,

Sally Hansen: In The Spotlight

(Just a brief disclaimer that all polishes swatched or reviewed on this blog from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, will be of the original formulation unless explicitly stated. I have not purchased any of the new formulation, nor to I intend to at this time)
This is a chunky holo bar glitter topper, from the Sally Hansen Xtreme wear line. While I do find it unique , as I don't see many polishes featuring solely bar glitters let alone those with holo, I just can't bring myself to like this polish that much, or bar glitter for that matter. I know, call me crazy. The formula on this polish is average for the line, but certainly not the best. There is a good deal of bubbling with this polish and for only having this polish on for three days when I took the swatch pictures I find the amount of chipping pretty horrible.
Again, not my favourite polish but if you're looking for some holo bar glitter, this baby might be for you.
Until next time, stay polished

Sally Hansen: Coral Reef

(Just a brief disclaimer that all polishes swatched or reviewed on this blog from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, will be of the original formulation unless explicitly stated. I have not purchased any of the new formulation, nor to I intend to at this time)
Aside from having some issues with chipping, I love this polish. It is a fresh pop of coral and is nothing a good topcoat couldn't fix. A creamy formulation and a perfect spring/summer shade, Coral Reef gets it done.
I especially like the last shot, what a gorgeous polish!
Until next time, Stay Polished

Sally Hansen: Diamonds

This polish hails from the Diamond Strength collection and along with this being the only polish from that collection or sub-brand as Sally Hansen tends to release, it is also what I believe to be the most basic in the collection, without any colour tint or additional elements to it, as it's name may suggest, this is the polish that puts the diamond in diamond strength.
I really like this polish, it is one of my go to polishes when I am looking for a non holo micro glitter topper and it has no problems splashing as much glitter onto the nail without much of the dreaded glitter 'fishing'. However while this is a beautiful polish, it is not one that performs well without a top coat and well it does have a good amount of shine, pretty much requires a top coat due to the extensive chipping.
Until next stay, Stay Polished

Revlon: Autumn Berry

Something I have noticed throughout my switching process is that while I do find the confidence to wear whatever colour I please no matter the season, there are some colours much more suited to specific seasons. This polish is one of them, as you may be able to tell from the polish's name, it is very suited to the Autumn, and makes also for a gorgeous festive shade.
The wear on this polish is pretty much as good as you get with drugstore polish and only summers minor tip wear, if any at all. The colour is a lovely deep berry shade with a small amount of barely there shimmer that is much more evident in the bottle.
Overall I like this polish, the formula is pretty decent, an average two coater and a rich colour that is unique to my collection.

Essence: Modern Romance

This is a lovely light baby pink with a small amount of shimmer which is only able to be seen in direct light. It takes about three coats to be opaque and there tends to be a bit of extra thickness because of this. It can chip easily because it isn't necessarily the best brand of polish. But with a top coat, which I have not been using for this swatch experiment that could easily be remedied.

Nice spring colour even if the formula isn't my favourite.
Stay polished.

L'Oreal: Drama Queen

This polish is, as the name suggests very dramatic. I bought this polish back in 9th grade, which was albeit quite a while ago, when I dyed a strip if my hair this exact shade of bright and vibrant colour. After going to the salon I went to the drug store and decided this was the perfect matching polish. And while I may not want to think about that hairdo this is certainly a nice bright nostalgic polish not to be forgotten.
Beautiful and bright, a definite drama queen.
Stay polished!

Rimmel: Violet Metal

For the lack of attention that I give this polish it is a surprisingly nice deep metallic purple. It has a pretty good formula and even though it takes quite a bit of work to not have the nail show through this is a very pretty shade, especially due to the fact that I don't have very many purple polishes in comparison to the other polishes in my stash.
This lovely purple shows some blue when the light catches I and it definitely surprised me with how great it looks on the nail.
Until next time, stay polished

L'Oreal: Rendezvous

This is a lovely vampy red polish that I love very much. It is about 6 years old and still going strong. It is a nice colour, a two coater and doesn't have much chip wear with three days of wear. Not much to say about this, seems like quite a solida polish to me and I enjoy wearing it.
Here's to vampy reds everywhere! Stay Polished!
